Angry Australia Post clients have taken to social media to claim they are still being made to collect their parcels from post offices, despite being home to receive packages.
The organisation’s Facebook page was littered with complaints which posties are failing to wait for a reasonable period after knocking or buzzing a household for a delivery.
Many assert that by the time they answer the door, the courier has vanished, leaving behind a card with details for the package to be collected in person at an Australia Post branch.
It is a particularly frustrating situation given more people are working from home than ever before because of the COVID-19 outbreak. It means impacted clients will have no choice but to leave their homes to collect their products as social distancing constraints are in place.
